Newton’s Nook Designs January Release: Candy Heart and My Type

Hello and welcome to the final day of Newton’s Nook Designs January Release.  Tomorrow all of the new products will be available in the shop, but before you make your shopping list, let’s have a look at two mini stamp sets included in this release.

First up is the Candy Heart stamp set and coordinating dies.  I can just picture a background filled with these candy hearts in rainbow shades; can’t you?!  Even though this set is “mini”; it can still carry an entire card.

I stamped several hearts with Versafine Onyx Black ink (in hindsight, I wish I had white heat-embossed them) and colored them with my neglected Zigs.  I white heat-embossed various sentiments from Candy Heart and then die-cut the hearts with the coordinating die.

I trimmed some plaid rainbow paper, matted it with white glitter paper, and adhered both to a white card.  I die-cut white cardstock with the Framework Die Set and stamped a sentiment from Love Owl-ways in the center.  I attached my scalloped frame to the card and popped up the hearts with foam tape.

Next up is the new My Type stamps and dies.  I love the retro feel of this typewriter image and the combination of fonts in the sentiments.

I colored that cute typewriter with my Zigs, stamped a sentiment from the set, and die-cut the image with the coordinating die.  I trimmed a strip of black striped paper and a strip of pink metallic paper and adhered both to a white card.  I die-cut white cardstock with Lil’ Inker Designs’ Quilted Stitched XOXO Die, trimmed it down, and attached it to my card.

Using some stitched circle dies, I die-cut a black frame and pink circle and attached both to my card.  I did some masking in order to stamp the sentiment from My Type in a line, distressed the edges of the strip, and adhered it to my card.  I popped up the typewriter with foam tape and scattered on some pink clay hearts.

  27. Denise Ward | 17th Jan 19

Both cards are really cute! I like the background paper you used on the first card; the colors go really well with the hearts. The second card features the typewriter that I just think is so cute and can be used in so many ways. Your design really lets the typewriter have the spotlight which it definitely deserves!
