Hello! Today I am featuring the super cute monkey from Paper Smooches‘ Comforting Hugs stamp set. I just love his sweet expression as he hugs onto his banana. The banana reminded me of a crescent moon, so I thought a galaxy background would be perfect for this image. Luckily for me, I had one already prepared that I had opted not to use for another project.
The galaxy background was created by smooshing layers of Distress Oxide inks onto watercolor paper. I dried each layer with my heat tool before adding the next to prevent the colors from mixing. I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a white card.
That adorable monkey was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copics, and popped up with foam tape. After die-cutting a circle from some white cardstock, I framed the monkey with the negative. Onto a die-cut banner, I white heat-embossed a sentiment from Comforting Hugs. Some star sequins and a little Spectrum Noir sparkle brush add the finishing touch to this galaxy-inspired card.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the ‘net. Have a great day!
