Scrapping for Less March Flavor of the Month Card Kit

Hello, friends!  I’m delighted to be guest designing for Scrapping for Less and participating in the reveal of their March 2019 Card Kit!  This is their 2-year anniversary, and the theme for this kit is all about celebrations.  Below is a note from Teresa, the owner:

“I cannot believe it has been 2 years since Scrapping for Less unveiled the first Flavor of the Month Card Kit. From selling 10 kits that first month; 5 of those being subscriptions to hundreds each month only 2 years later; I feel truly blessed to be able to bring this program to you each month. But not only that, I feel truly blessed to call each and every one of my customers part of the SFL family. So, this month we bring you a whole kit of Celebrations, Ice Cream Celebrations, Baby Celebrations, Birthday Celebrations, and Friendship Celebrations. Thanks so very much for all of your support. Hop along and see the inspiration the Design Team and Guest Designers have for you today. Head to Scrapping for Less Flavor of the Month page to purchase your kit. And if you happened upon this blog or paragraph make sure you go back to the Scrapping for Less blog to enter in the Rafflecopter for a chance to win a prize!”

My first card features a lovely stamp by Stamping Bella called Snapshot Friends.  After stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored it with Copics.  I die-cut the scalloped frame from the kit’s navy cardstock, trimmed down my colored image, and adhered the frame on top.  I matted the frame onto the coral Everyday Musings paper.

I trimmed the green Everyday Musings paper to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and adhered it to a white card.  I cut strips from the acetate piece and attached them to my card.  I popped up my matted frame with foam tape.  After using an anti-static tool to remove the stickiness from one of the sticker phrases, I added it to my card with dimensional adhesive and finished with a few of the sequins from the kit.

Next up is a sweet shaker card featuring the Baby stamp by Your Next Stamp.  Because I wanted to make a one-layer scene, I created some masks before stamping the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the images with Copics and trimmed down the panel.  Using the Peekaboo Window 3 Die from Whimsy Stamps, I die-cut the shaker frame from the kit’s brown cardstock.  I backed the largest window with clear acetate and put two layers of foam tape behind the frame.

After adding the clear sequins to the window, I covered the frame with my colored panel and attached it to a white card.  I die-cut a piece of the Sweet Baby Paper and white cardstock with the same die and adhered the circles to my card.  I embellished the white circle with a sticker from the kit.  After heat-embossing a sentiment from the Baby stamp set, I trimmed the sentiment into a flag shape and attached it to my card.

I just love this ice cream sundae stamp by Scrapping for Less, especially with that yummy paper!  After coloring the image with Copics, I cut it out and added some white highlights with a gel pen.  I die-cut a circle from white cardstock and ink-blended the center with Worn Lipstick distress ink.  I matted that circle with a scalloped one die-cut from the brown cardstock and adhered my colored image with foam tape.

I trimmed some of the Ice Cream Celebrations paper to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and affixed it to a white card.  I trimmed two of the kraft tags, popped up my scalloped circle with foam tape, and tucked the kraft tags underneath.  I used my scissors to cut a flag from the polka dot paper and adhered it to my card.  I white heat-embossed a sentiment from the ice cream sundae set, bannered both ends of the strip, and attached it to my card with dimensional adhesive.  To finish the card, I added some clear sparkle and Nuvo Drops to the sundae and scattered on a few sequins.

My final project is a shaker card featuring the Hooray Die by Scrapping for Less.  I die-cut the scalloped panel with Newton’s Nook Designs’ Frames & Flags Die Set and trimmed the ice cream paper to fit inside the scallops.  I die-cut “hooray” from the center of the ice cream panel, reserving the negative pieces.  After backing the opening with clear acetate, I adhered the negative pieces to the plastic and applied two layers of foam tape to the panel.

I placed the sequins in the center of the scalloped panel and carefully covered the piece with the die-cut ice cream paper.  I attached the shaker to a white card with ScorTape.  Using the masking technique, I stamped a sentiment with Versamark and white heat-embossed it.  I die-cut the sentiment into a banner and adhered it to my card with dimensional adhesive.

That’s all from me!  I had a great time crafting with this month’s kit, and I know you will, too!  Your next stop on the hop is Cassie.  If you get lost along the way, head over to the Scrapping for Less blog – and don’t forget to enter the Rafflecopter while you’re there!  I also have a small giveaway over on my Instagram account, so if you’d like to a chance to win, please pop over.  Have a great weekend!

Andrea, you have a wonderful, creative talent, as seen by your very cute cards here. Your ice cream sundae card is my favorite. Makes me want some ice cream right now! It looks very real by the way you have colored it. So cute!
