One-Layer Scene with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hi, friends!  I’m back with a one-layer scene card using products from Newton’s Nook Designs‘ March release.  To create my scene, I combined one of the images from the Garden Mice set with the the beautiful Floral Fringe stamp.

Before starting my card, I created a mask for the flower border.  I stamped Floral Fringe onto some masking paper and cut the mask apart.  I placed the upper half of the mask onto my paper, inked up the bottom half of the stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and stamped it.  I removed the upper mask, covered the image I had just stamped with the other mask, and inked up that cute mouse.

Once the stamping was complete, I removed the mask and filled in any missing floral images with a black pen.  I colored everything with Copics and added some details with a white gel pen.  Using two of the dies from the Frames Squared Die Set, I created a frame for my image.  I trimmed the colored panel so that it was smaller than the frame and adhered the frame on top with foam tape.

I die-cut some yellow polka dot paper with the largest die from the Frames Squared Die Set and adhered it to a 5″ square white cardbase.  I adhered my framed panel to my card and added a few clear sequins and some clear sparkle to the butterfly.  The sentiment is from Floral Fringe.  I gold heat-embossed it, die-cut it with one of circles from the Frames Squared Die Set, and popped it up onto my card with foam tape (the portion extending beyond the frame received two layers of adhesive).

Thanks for stopping by!
