Hello, again! ‘Remember I said the other day that I had practiced my Copic coloring during my vacation? Well, today’s card features some of those very images. I still need more practice (and colors!), but these are my favorites of those I’ve colored.
The cupcakes are from CTMH’s Cutie Pie, an old Stamp of the Month. I stamped them in Versafine, colored them with Copics, and fussy cut them. I die-cut my scalloped rectangle using Waffle Flowers’ Lacey Layers die. I found some fabulous adhesive-backed white foam at Joann’s a couple of weeks ago (I wonder if anyone makes double-sided, adhesive-backed foam sheets; that would be awesome!). I cut a rectangle of foam and mounted my scalloped rectangle on top. I trimmed a rectangle of Echo Park Paper’s Hello Summer paper, adhered it to my top-folding white cardbase, and then adhered my scalloped rectangle on top. I attached my cupcakes to my card front, popping the middle one up with foam tape. I added an enamel dot and heart to two of the cupcakes and Zig Wink of Stella to the middle one.
The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp’s Phoebe with Wagon. I stamped it with Versamark onto a scrap of the Hello Summer paper, heat-embossed it in black, and colored in the hearts with a red marker. I fish-tailed the ends and popped it up with foam tape before adhering it to my card. At this point I thought the card was a little bland, so I added some baker’s twine under the sentiment. That helped, but I’m still a little disappointed with how the card turned out. I wish I had either ink-blended the background before adhering everything down or used watercolor paper so I could have added a watercolor wash to the background. That is the downside of diving into a project before planning it out, I guess!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a “sweet” day!
I’m submitting this card to Your Next Stamp’s Color Challenge 40.
