Inky Paws Challenge 75: Slider Donut Card

Good morning, friends!  Inky Paws Challenge 75 begins today, and the theme is Cute Animals.  Helloooooo!  Newton’s Nook Designs has TONS of cute critter stamps, so this challenge is easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy!

As I had not used it yet, I pulled out Newton’s Donut from the May release for this challenge.  I stamped that fun image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copics.  I used some glaze pens to color in the sprinkles: Love the shine and dimension they give the sprinkles!

Have you ever played that game where a doughnut is hanging by a string and you have to eat it off the string?  Well, this image reminded me of that game, so I thought it would be fun to make a slider card with it.  I inked up some Bristol paper with Salty Ocean distress ink and flicked on some water.  I die-cut the panel with Waffle Flower’s Lacy Layers 2 dies and Your Next Stamp’s Tiny Spinner/Slider Dies.  I stamped the sentiment from Newton’s Donut with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I tied some string around the doughnut, taping it to the back of the die-cut panel, and added a slider disc and cardstock circle to the colored image, sandwiching the panel between the image and circle.  After covering the back of the panel with foam tape, being sure that none of it impeded the slider’s movement, I adhered it to a kraft cardbase.  You can see a quick video of the slider in action on my Instagram account.

Thanks for stopping!  Be sure to link up a project by July 6th at midnight CST for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Newton’s Nook Designs.
