Inky Paws Challenge 62: Watercolored Bouquet

Happy New Year, friends!  I hope that you had a wonderful holiday and that 2018 will be full of blessings for you!

This is the final week of Inky Paws Challenge 62.  The challenge colors reminded me of the hydrangeas that grow outside my mom’s house – sometimes blue, sometimes more lavender.

To create my bouquet, I used the Lovely Blooms set by Newton’s Nook Designs.  Onto Bristol Smooth paper, I stamped my images with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I colored them with my Zigs and a waterbrush and cut them out once they were dry.

I inked up some Bristol paper with Milled Lavender distress ink and flicked on some water and watered-down Wilted Violet distress ink.  Once that was dry, I die-cut the panel with MFT Stamps’ Stitched Scallop Basic Edge dies.  I adhered some patterned paper from my stash to a white card and added my die-cut panel on top.

I arranged my bouquet onto my card, popping up the hydrangea with foam tape.  My sentiment uses several phrases from Lovely Blooms.  I stamped them with Versamark, white heat-embossed them, and popped them up with more foam tape.  Some clear sequins add a bit of sophistication and sparkle to the card.

Thank you for stopping by!  You have until Friday, January 5th, at midnight CST to link up a project for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Newton’s Nook Designs.
