Whimsy Stamps’ Release Week: Under the Mistletoe & Snow Flurry

Hello!  I’m super excited to be sharing my first projects as a Whimsy Stamps’ Design Team Member!  This week is release week for their new clear and rubber stamps and dies, and let me tell you, it’s an amazing release!  I’m sharing two very different projects today.  The first one features the gorgeous new rubber stamp Under the Mistletoe by Kirsten Winkelbauer.

I stamped that beautiful girl with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics before die-cutting the image with a scalloped oval die.  I also stamped a second image, coloring only the poinsettias.  After fussy-cutting the poinsettias, I popped them up with foam tape onto my other image and added some Diamond Stickles to the berries of the poinsettias.

The die-cut sentiment is from the previously-released Wonderland Word Die Set.  I die-cut it twice – once from white cardstock and once from purple.  I layered the two die-cuts together and adhered them to my card.  Rather than try to glue the tiny dots for the “i” together, I used some purple Nuvo drops instead.

For my second card, I stamped the snowflakes and sentiment from the new Snow Flurry clear stamp set onto watercolor paper and heat-embossed them in white.  Using three shades of distress ink (Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, and Seedless Preserves) and a waterbrush, I added color to the embossed areas to make them pop.

Once the watercolor was dry, I trimmed down the panel, wrapped some twine around the top, and foam-mounted it to some purple cardstock, which I adhered to a white card.  I added some clear sequins for a little sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll be back later this week with more projects featuring new products from Whimsy Stamps.  Have a great day!
