Hippo Bird-day

Hello and happy Friday, friends!  Today’s card was inspired by MFT Sketch Challenge 348 and MFT Color Challenge 76.  I pulled out my current favorite MFT set, Happy Hippos, as well as some other MFT supplies, to make this card.

As usual, my images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics.  I cut out my images with my ScanNCut2 (the next best thing since sliced bread, I tell ya!) and then added clear Wink of Stella to the balloons and cake.

To create my background, I masked off the ground with post-it tape and ink-blended Worn Lipstick distress ink over MFT’s Cloud Stencil.  After removing the mask and covering up my sky, I blended with Peacock Feathers and sprinkled on some water droplets, which I dried with a towel.  Then it was time to assemble my card!

I trimmed down my ink-blended panel, matted it with blue cardstock, and adhered it to a gray card.  The cake was glued flat while the other images were popped up with foam tape.  Using my MISTI, I stamped and heat-embossed a sentiment onto some MFT chevron paper.  Once my sentiment had been adhered, I added some teal enamel dots from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
