Hi there! Don’t you just love those adorable critters from Neat & Tangled’s Wild Ones?! I couldn’t pass them up and decided to use them in Little Tangles Challenge 83: Birthday.
I stamped those cuties with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored them with Copics, and cut them out. I trimmed the white bottom portion off the presents because I wanted the gifts to rest on the giraffe’s back seamlessly. I added some details and highlights with a white gel pen before going to town with clear Wink of Stella. I knew I wanted to have the friends lined up as though they’re marching to a party, so I made a 5″ x 7″ card from black cardstock to have enough room for them.
To create the background, I used Neat & Tangled’s new Balloon Duo stencil and distress inks. The ink colors I used are Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, and Weathered Wood. I masked off the balloons before flicking some water droplets onto the ground and then blotted it dry. I painted the little highlight on the balloons with a damp paintbrush. The balloon strings were hand-drawn with a black Sharpie. Once my background was dry, I heat-embossed a sentiment from Neat & Tangled’s Hooray set, adhered the panel to my card, and popped up my stamped images with foam tape. For a little more sparkle, I added some sequins from Craftin Desert Divas.
The party continues on the inside of my card. I adhered some white cardstock and stamped “go wild” from Wild Ones in black. I also added some of the confetti images from the set in shades of yellow and orange.
Thank you for stopping by!
