Hello! Today is the start of a brand new Inky Paws Challenge, and the theme is polka dots. I don’t know about you, but I love polka dots, which makes this challenge especially fun!
Did you catch the August release from Newton’s Nook Designs? It was so adorable and so magical! I couldn’t resist the Once Upon a Princess set (After all, I have a princess – and sometimes a mermaid – living in my house!) and used it on my card today. On a piece of Xpress-It paper, I stamped the beautiful princess with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I masked her before stamping the potted trees on either side of her. I masked those as well before ink-blending with Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron distress inks. After removing the masks, I colored the images with Copics (colors listed below).
The pleated border was created with Doodlebug Design’s Petite Prints Rainbow pack and a border die, but you could just as easily use a score board and bone folder to make it. I adhered the border to a white card, added my stamped panel, and adhered a strip of purple cardstock on top. The purple strip was a bit plain to me, so using my MISTI, I stamped some stitching details in coordinating dye ink. While I had out my MISTI, I used it to stamp a sentiment from Once Upon a Princess in black. All princesses like some sparkle, so I added some with clear Wink of Stella and some gems from my stash.
Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to link up a project by Friday, September 8th to be entered to win a $20 gift certificate to Newton’s Nook Designs.
