Inspiration for Inky Paws Challenge 53: Winter and Sweaters

Hello, again!  It was a busy weekend here, and I still have guests in town to watch the solar eclipse today.  Before I go get on my super-stylish, NASA-approved viewing glasses, I’m dropping in with a little inspiration for Inky Paws Challenge 53.

I just love the colors of this challenge and thought they would make a cute sweater for Winston from Newton’s Nook Designs’ Sweater Weather.  After stamping him with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, I colored him up with Copics and cut him out.  I added some Zig Wink of Stella to the pink parts of his sweater and hat.

The challenge colors also inspired the background.  To create it, I ink-blended some Bristol Smooth paper with Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  Once that was fully dry, I stamped a bunch (It looks like a blizzard, Winston; look out!) of snowflakes from Sweater Weather with Versamark and heat-embossed them in white.  I die-cut a hill and then die-cut both the ink-blended panel and hill with a stitched rectangle die.  To give the hill more of a snowy appearance, I spread some texture paste on it and sprinkled on some distress glitter.  Using my MISTI, I stamped a sentiment in black and then assembled my card, popping up Winston with some foam tape and adding a little shading with a light blue Copic.

Thanks for stopping by!  Would you like to win a $20 gift certificate to Newton’s Nook Designs?  Just link up a project inspired by the challenge photo by Friday, August 25th, at midnight CST.  Have a great day!
