Have a Jolly Good Day!

Hello, again, friends.  I’m back with more inspiration for Inky Paws Challenge 52.  As you can see from the sketch below, I’ve been rather liberal in my interpretation of the sketch.  😉  I like to think of a sketch as a suggestion, rather than something hard and fast to follow; how about you?

Being a self-proclaimed Anglophile, I couldn’t pass up Newton Dreams of London and thought I’d make a fun scene card (loosely) based on the sketch.  All of my images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  I added some highlights with a white gel pen and some sparkle and shine with Wink of Stella, a glitter pen, and Glossy Accents.

To create my sky, I ink-blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto Bristol Smooth paper using a cloud stencil.  Onto another piece of Bristol paper, I blended on Mowed Lawn, sprinkled on a few water droplets, and blotted it.  The road was created with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I die-cut both the grassy hill and the road with Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Hillside Borders.  I adhered all three background pieces together and die-cut them with Simon Says Stamp’s Stitched Rectangle dies.

I found some patterned paper in my stash that worked with my colors, trimmed it down, and adhered it to my card.  I glued my die-cut panel on top and added my colored images and some shading with my Copics.  Newton was popped up with foam tape, and I stamped a sentiment from the set in black ink.

Thank you for stopping by!  You have until Friday, August 11th, at midnight CST to link up a project for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Newton’s Nook Designs.  I can’t wait to see what you create!

This is super cute! I love that you too the sketch as a starting point and went with it! The layers of the scene do mimic the stripes in the sketch just right! I also like how you used pattern paper for the base! What a fun idea!
Thank you for the Inky Paws challenge inspiration!
