Happy Saturday! Today I have a card inspired by SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #33.
As you can see from the inspiration photo, I decided to use the sketch rather than the color challenge. I just love the cute monkey from SPD’s Caring Critters and thought it would be fun to have him hanging from some bakers’ twine. The image has a vine coming from his hands, but I masked that before stamping him with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then drew in the rest of his hand with a Memento marker. After coloring him with Copics, I cut him out with my ScanNCut2.
The envelopes are from SPD’s Caring Hearts set. I stamped the single envelope on the bottom left (green one), masked it, and then stamped the image containing a bunch of envelopes. After also masking those, I stamped a few of the single envelope to fill in some gaps. I removed the masks, colored the images with Copics, and die-cut it with a circle die.
I trimmed down some Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow paper and adhered it to a top-folding white card. After determining the placement for the monkey, I adhered the circle to my card. I added some bakers’ twine at the top, tying each end into a bow, and popped up the monkey with foam tape. I heat-embossed a sentiment from Caring Critters onto a strip of black cardstock, which I popped up with more foam tape. To draw attention to the monkey and add a little sparkle, I adhered some clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.
Thanks for stopping by!
