Your Next Stamp July Blog Hop

Hello, again, and welcome to Your Next Stamp’s July Blog Hop!  This month Your Next Stamp is having a re-release rather than introducing new sets.  I have used Hoot’s Up for my projects and colored the cute owl from the set two different ways to show you how you can achieve very different looks using the same supplies.  For both cards, I stamped the owl with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored him with Copics, and added some white highlights before cutting him out with my ScanNCut2.

For my first card, I colored the owl with traditional colors.  I die-cut a cloud mask using one of the Puffy Cloud Border dies and ink-blended my white card with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink.

I popped up the owl with foam tape and framed him with a white panel I had die-cut with a circle die.  I heat-embossed a sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, bannered one end, and adhered that to the card.  I stamped a couple of the clouds from the set and added them, as well.  For a bit of shine and interest, I covered the clouds and gray on the mask with clear Zig Wink of Stella and added Glossy Accents to the glass on the mask.

This owl is just so fun that I had to color him twice!  Does he remind you of a cardinal like this?  I decided that such a fun owl needed some fun colors, and this is what I came up with.  This time, I used the Puffy Cloud Border dies as intended and die-cut several puffy clouds from white cardstock.  I ink-blended with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink where the clouds overlap.

For the sky I ink-blended some Bristol Smooth paper with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and flicked on some water.  I adhered the panel to my card and added my clouds, popping up the second cloud with a layer of foam tape and the top cloud with two layers of foam tape.  I adhered my bird to the second layer and added some foam tape behind his head.  Using my MISTI, I heat-embossed a sentiment from Phoebe and Pets in black.  Again, I added some Zig Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the mask.
