Best in Show: Inky Paws Challenge #50

Hi there!  I’m so excited to be sharing my first project as a design team member for the Inky Paws Challenge Team!  I love Newton’s Nook Designs and was over the moon when I got the invitation (Ok, I may have squealed a bit).

Did you catch NND’s June release?  It was fabulous!  If you follow me on Instagram, then you may know that I have a West Highland White Terrier, so when NND released their Terrific Terriers set, I HAD to have it!  For today’s card, I colored up one of the terriers to look like my westie, although mine only has a bow when the groomer puts one in her hair, and that never stays long!  I stamped the cute pup with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored her with Copics, and cut her out.  I also colored the ribbon from the set.

Luckily, I had some plaid paper in my stash that matched the colors of the challenge perfectly!  After adhering a strip to the bottom of a top-folding card, I added some die-cut white cardstock on top.  I popped up a pink die-cut circle and added my stamped images with more foam tape.  I didn’t have purple cardstock that exactly matched the patterned paper, so I colored some white cardstock with one of the Copics I had used to color my image and heat-embossed my sentiment.  For a little sparkle and interest, I added some Glossy Accents to the dog’s nose and some Zig Wink of Stella to the ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Thank you for stopping by!  I can’t wait to see your project in the linkup!
