Watercolored Umbrellas

Hi, again, friend!  This week has been a whirlwind, but I’m so thankful it’s Friday!  I hope you’ve enjoyed the DT’s projects, but – wait! – we’re not done yet!  My card today features the adorable umbrellas from the new Rainbows & Sunshine set.  When I saw this set, I just knew I wanted to make a background using these cute images (By now, you’ve probably figured out how much I like making my own background papers, right?).

This card actually came together pretty quickly.  I arranged the three umbrellas onto an acrylic block and stamped them with Versafine onto Bristol Smooth paper.  Once my images were dry, I watercolored them with Zig markers and then watercolored the background with Tumbled Glass distress ink.

After heat-setting my watercoloring, I die-cut a window using the smallest Inside Scalloped Circle die.  I laid my panel over my card and marked where the opening was.  Using my Misti, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the set onto my card.  I popped up my watercolored panel with foam tape and also popped up a white scalloped frame.  Some clear sequins from the Mermaid Lagoon sequin mix finish the card.

I hope I’ve inspired you today to check out Craftin Desert Divas’ new release.  There is a special through April 30th:  All orders of $50 or more before shipping and taxes receive a FREE cactus die (see below).
