Welcome to Day 5, the last day of sneak peeks. Yay! All products will be available today!!!!
Today, the DT is featuring the adorable new set Fiesta Time. When I saw this set, I might have squealed just a little. We eat Mexican food all the time in my house. If we ask our son where he wants to eat, he always names his favorite Mexican restaurant. With Cinco de Mayo just around the corner, this set couldn’t be any more perfect.
Yes, another shaker card! I’m afraid I’m a bit obsessed with them this release, and you’re going to see at least one more. 😉 I just love these singing jalapenos! Aren’t they fun?! As with all of my cards this week so far, I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Copics, and cut them out with my ScanNCut2 before adding some highlights with a white gel pen. For the background, I arranged some of the smaller stamps in the set onto an acrylic block and stamped them with tan ink onto kraft cardstock. I filled in some spots with one of the small peppers included in the set. I trimmed the panel to fit an A2 card and die-cut the center with the smallest Inside Scalloped Circle die. I backed the opening with acetate, adhered the scalloped frame on top, and covered the back with foam tape.
For the yellow inset, I used my Cricut to cut out a sun ray shape to use as a stencil. I ink-blended Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks before flicking on some water. Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine. I adhered the piece to my card, added some Berry Christmas sequins (I wish I had added more.), and placed my die-cut panel on top. I popped up the cute peppers with foam tape and added some Zig Wink of Stella to their sombreros.
For my second card, I created a background with a cactus die that will be free with a $50 purchase (see promo at the end of this post). I trimmed some kraft cardstock to A2 size and repeatedly die-cut it with the cactus die. I adhered the panel to my card and added some green die-cut cacti in the openings. It was a little time-consuming, but I love the effect! Now, I have a bunch of brown cacti for who knows what!
I stamped the little boy and chihuahua from Fiesta Time, colored them with Copics, and cut them out. I added some white details with a gel pen and some Zig Wink of Stella to the sombrero. After popping up my images with foam tape, I white heat-embossed a sentiment from Fiesta Time onto a strip of red cardstock and adhered that to my card. Two yellow enamel dots add the finishing touch.
Muchas Gracias for stopping by my little corner of the ‘net. I hope you have a fantastic day! Be sure to head over to Craftin Desert Divas’ Facebook event, where they’re giving away this set to one lucky commenter.
