Hello and welcome back to day 2 of Craftin Desert Divas’ April Release. If you have or know a princess fan, then you’re going to love the stamp set the design team is featuring today: Fairytale Dreams has some adorable princesses and companion critters! The DT is also sharing projects made with the new Treat Bag Dies. All products will be available on Friday.
My daughter and I loved the movie Moana, so I am delighted that CDD is releasing a stamp set featuring two characters from the movie. The coconut tree is from their Island Paradise set. I stamped all of the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Copics, and cut them out with my ScanNCut2.
The background was created by ink-blending Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac distress inks onto Bristol Smooth paper. I flicked some shimmer spritz onto the panel and left it to dry. Using one of the Outdoor Landscape Dies as a guide, I tore some tan cardstock to create the beach. I adhered the ink-blended panel to my card and the beach and tree on top. Moana and her friend were popped up with foam tape. I die-cut a flag with the Flag Banner Dies and heat-embossed a sentiment from Island Paradise. I also stamped and colored a flower from Fairytale Dreams. Some Zig Wink of Stella on the flowers and spearhead adds some more sparkle.
For my next projects, I used the Treat Bag Dies. To create one treat bag, you run the die through your die-cutting machine twice. The die leaves score lines to show you where to fold and adhere the die-cuts. I used my Martha Stewart ScoreBoard to make the scorelines more pronounced and a bone folder to get nice creases. The Treat Bag Dies have different tag styles you can use to embellish your bag, as well as a separate die for creating the handle. There are so many possibilities with these dies! Both of my bags use patterned paper from Die Cuts with a View.
Before adhering my pink bag together, I die-cut a circle from one of the pieces with the Inside Scalloped Circles Dies. I adhered some clear acetate behind the opening and glued a white scallop on top. I embellished the bag with a flower and leaves die-cut with the same dies. A Pink Dew Drop in the flower’s center adds the perfect touch.
That adorable giraffe is from the Special Delivery set. I stamped him with Versafine and watercolored him with Zig markers. I used the Inside Scalloped Circles Dies to create the yellow circle with white frame, which I adhered to my bag before adding the giraffe with foam tape. The little blue stars were die-cut with the Tiny Treasure Dies, and the yellow star tag is from the Treat Bag Dies. I love how CDD’s dies all have that beautiful stitching, which makes all of their dies coordinate so nicely!
Thank you for spending time with me today! I hope I’ve inspired you. I encourage you to head over to Craftin Desert Divas’ Facebook event, where one lucky person could win this set!
