Hello and welcome to day one of Craftin Desert Divas’ April Release. I have to tell you that this is my favorite release they’ve done. The stamps are so adorable, and the dies are fabulous! But that’s enough jabbering, right? You’re here to see some cards, so let’s get to it!
Today, the DT is showcasing the new Rainbows & Sunshine stamp set, which will be available on Friday along with all of the other release items. For both of my cards, I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Copics, and cut them out with my ScanNCut2. I added some details with a white gel pen.
To create the background for this card, I watercolored with Weathered Wood (sky) and Peacock Feathers distress ink onto Bristol Smooth paper. I added the grass with my Zig markers. After my panel was dry, I die-cut it with the largest Fancy Frames die and popped it up with foam tape onto my white card.
The clouds were die-cut with the new Rainbow dies. I die-cut a flag from vellum with one of the Flag Banner Dies (I used partial die-cutting to get a smaller flag.). I stamped a sentiment from Rainbows & Sunshine with Versafine and adhered the flag on top of the clouds. The girl in the background was adhered directly to the card, and I adhered the other girl with a mini wobbler. I added some Zig Wink of Stella to the water and some Glossy Accents to the girl on the wobbler. Here’s a little video showing the wobbler in action.
My second card uses the new Rainbow dies, as well as the cloud die. I watercolored the rings with the following colors of distress ink: Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade (I mixed in a little Carved Pumpkin, too.), Cracked Pistachio/Lucky Clover, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violed. I flicked on some water and dabbed it off and then flicked on some shimmer spritz and let it dry. For the sky I ink-blended Tumbled Glass onto Bristol Smooth paper and also flicked it with water and blotted it. I created the grass the same way using a combination of Cracked Pistachio and Mowed Lawn and then die-cut it with the Outdoor Landscape 2 Dies.
I adhered the rainbow and grass to my panel and die-cut it with the largest Fancy Frames die. I adhered some Doodlebug Designs’ Hello Sunshine paper to my card and then added my panel on top. I popped up the little girl with foam tape and added some Mermaid Lagoon sequins and some Zig Wink of Stella to the cloud and rainbow. Not to distract from my scene, I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card.
