No-line Watercoloring and Stamping with Distress Inks

Happy Friday, friends!  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  I hope they include some crafting time!

Today, I’m sharing a fall-themed card (‘Taking a little break from Christmas projects, but I’ll be back with more soon!) featuring the gorgeous foliage of MFT Stamps’ Flashy Florals and the sweet coffee cup from SugarPea Designs’ Caffeine Addict.

I really love how that blue coffee cup pops off that background!  I stamped the coffee cup in a light blue ink onto watercolor paper and colored it with a Zig marker.  After that was dry, I stamped the coffee image and fussy-cut the cup.  I die-cut a vellum tag with Pretty Pink Posh’s Stitched Essentials 1 and heat-embossed the sentiment in gold.  I foam-mounted the cup on the tag and added a gold string.

The gorgeous background was created by stamping three leaf images with distress inks.  The colors I used are Fired Brick, Wild Honey, and Tea Dye.  After inking up the stamp, I spritzed it with water before stamping the image.  I just love how it turned out!  I trimmed my panel and adhered it to my white card.  I added a strip of coffee-colored (naturally!) cardstock in the middle and foam-mounted my vellum tag on top.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope your weekend is full of good things like coffee and crafting!

I’m entering this card into SugarPea Designs’ Mix It Up Challenge 21 and Craft Stamper Magazine’s Take It Make It Challenge:  November.
