Hello, again! Do you give gift cards for Christmas? I do, and I like to make cute holders for them. Today, I have a lovely one made with the Gift Card Envelope die from Hero Arts May 2016 kit.
While I’m certain there are tutorials out there giving dimensions and instructions for creating a holder like this, the die makes it so easy because it scores the fold lines for you and even creates a slit to tuck in the flap (You’ll see that in a later picture). After I had die-cut the envelope, I trimmed some pretty patterned paper to cover the outside of the envelope. I used the same paper to cover the top flap of the inside of the envelope, too.
I die-cut a vellum circle, added liquid glue to the edges, and dipped it in distress glitter. I also die-cut the word “happy” three times using Simon Says Stamp’s Happy die: once from glitter cardstock and twice from green cardstock. I layered those die-cuts together. The stamped sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Happy 3×4 set. I stamped it in Versamark and heat-embossed it in white. The strip was then bannered on both ends. I adhered my vellum circle onto my envelope and arranged the die-cut and banner on top. A snowflake from EK Success was popped up for some added sparkle.
On the outside flap of the envelope, I adhered a die-cut snowflake, which was created with Whimsy Stamps’ Layered Snowflake dies. A blue gem in the center is the finishing touch. Below is a picture of the outside of the envelope as seen when it is fully opened.
Thank you for visiting. I hope your day is wonderful!
I’m entering this card into the following challenges: Hero Arts Holiday Cardmaking Challenge, a2z Scrapbooking November 2016 Challenge: Embellish It, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes, and Simon Says Stamp Work It Wednesday Challenge October 2016.
