Hello, again! Today’s card was created with MFT Stamps’ 2016 Card Design Superstar Contest in mind. I have seen quite a few galaxy backgrounds lately and wanted to try one. It didn’t turn out quite the way I wanted, but I think it still looks pretty good. What do you think?
To create the galaxy, I brushed water over a piece of watercolor paper and then brushed on several colors of distress ink. I dried the panel with my heat tool after each layer. After the last two layers, I flicked water over the panel, waited a bit, and then blotted it with a paper towel. I spritzed the panel with some Smooch spritz and dried it with my heat tool. I trimmed down the panel and mounted it onto a black cardbase.
What’s a galaxy background without a heavenly body to fill it, right? I stamped that angelic piggy from MFT Stamps’ Hog Heaven with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with Copics. I die-cut him with the coordinating dies, popped him up onto my card, and added some Zig Wink of Stella to his wing. The stars were cut from silver glitter paper using MFT’s Star STAX dies and adhered to the background. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark onto a strip of black cardstock, heat-embossed it in white, and added that to my card.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic day!
