Shaking It Up with Neat & Tangled’s Mermazing

Good morning!  I have a sweet shaker card today featuring Neat and Tangled’s Mermazing.  My daughter is obsessed with mermaids (She even has a mermaid room complete with a “seaweed” canopy over her bed), so I made this card with her in mind.

I stamped the little mermaid onto watercolor paper with Versafine and heat-embossed it in black.  I colored the image with my Zig markers and an aqua pen.  The tail and water were colored with distress inks.  I created the frame by embossing a panel of blue cardstock with a scalloped folder and die-cutting a circle out of the middle.  The white frame was made by die-cutting a scalloped circle from white cardstock and then die-cutting a circle out of the middle.  I adhered the white frame to my blue embossed panel and added some acetate behind the opening.  I layered two pieces of thin, white craft foam together and die-cut a circle from the center.  I added that to the back of the blue panel.  I adhered my watercolored image to my side-folding, white cardbase and added some sequins from Neat and Tangled on top before adhering my blue panel on top.

I stamped the sentiment from Mermazing onto a strip of purple cardstock with Versamark and heat-embossed it in white.  I bannered one end of the strip and popped it up onto my card with foam squares.  This sounds like alot, but it was actually pretty quick and easy.

Thanks for popping over.  I hope you have a “mermazing” day!

I’m entering this card into Little Tangled’s Challenge #71 – Shakers and Sequins.
