25 Days of Christmas Tags 2020 – Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello, friends!  Today I’m representing Newton’s Nook Designs for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2020 event.  You can find all of the details on the event, including prize info, on Tracey McNeely’s blog.

I decided to keep my tag relatively simple (It may LOOK extravagant, but I didn’t invest so much time in it that I would cry if it got tossed with the wrapping paper after the gift-opening orgy!).  After spraying the back of the Reindeer Stencil with Pixie Spray, I placed it over black cardstock.  I spread Transfer Gel Blanco through the stencil with my Stencil Pal and allowed the gel to dry thoroughly (usually it’s dry in about an hour).

Once the gel was dry, I used my laminator to apply Silver Deco Foil to the cardstock.  I die-cut the panel with the Ornament Shaker Dies and die-cut white cardstock with the same shape.  I adhered the two die-cuts together (I figure it’s easier to write the recipient’s name on white cardstock than black).  With the same dies, I die-cut two ornament toppers: one from silver foil paper and one from white cardstock.  I adhered these to my ornament with liquid adhesive.

My sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings Dies.  I die-cut it once from double-sided foam and again from red glitter paper.  I adhered the die-cuts together and attached them to the tag.  Using the Pines & Holly Dies, I die-cut greenery from green glitter cardstock.  I attached the greenery to my tag and finished with some red string from my stash.

I really love how this tag turned out!  You can easily create four of these tags from one stenciled background, which makes mass production easy.  They are customizable with any colors and will look so elegant tied to your gifts!

Don’t forget to check out the prize info on Tracey’s blog!  Below are all of the sponsors of the event.

I love how your tag turned out too. It cracked me up when you said you wouldn’t cry if it got tossed in the trash. It’s a pretty shiny tag and looks great.

I’ve learned of a a new process of foiling from your description. At first I thought you painstakingly punched tiny reindeer out of silver foil paper and glued them down because of the dimension. Great technique. Very pretty and unique ornament tag. You don’t see a lot of black ornaments. Thanks for sharing.
