Hello and welcome to day one of Newton’s Nook Designs’ May Release! This release has so many fun and adorable stamp sets along with a gorgeous new stencil set and fabulous new standalone dies! I guarantee you’re going to love it all (I know I do)!
My first card features the new Birthday Roundabout stamp set and the new Circle Frames and Banner Trio Die Sets. I started by stamping that fun image with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto Bristol paper. After heat-embossing it with clear powder, I went to town coloring with my Zigs. This image is alot of fun to color, and if you limit your palette (I think I only used 6 markers), the coloring goes pretty quickly.
Once my coloring was dry, I die-cut the panel with the largest scalloped die from the Circle Frames Dies. I created the white frame by taping the two largest dies together before running them through my diecutting machine. I backed the opening of the frame with clear acetate, which I die-cut with the scalloped die, and a layer of high-density foam tape. After filling the frame with iridescent sequins, I covered it with my colored image.
For my background I spread Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel from Therm O Web through the Confetti Stencil. Once the gel was dry, I die-cut the panel with the Frames Squared Dies and adhered it to a white card and then added my shaker with ScorTape. I die-cut a banner with the Banner Trio Dies (I’m so excited that one of the dies creates a dimensional banner!) and white heat-embossed a sentiment from Birthday Roundabout. After folding the banner, I attached it to my card, placing some foam tape behind the middle.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. Yes, Mother’s Day is over, but my mom is so amazing, I like to tell her more than one day a year. Anyway, the gorgeous floral images on this card are from the new Floral Roundabout stamp. I stamped the image two times and colored it with Copics. I die-cut the images with the Circle Frames Dies (I die-cut two circles from one image).
To create that gorgeous background paper, I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink through the Floral Lace Stencil. I adhered the panel to a white card and popped up my circles with foam tape, trimming off the excess.
With the Banner Trio Dies, I die-cut a banner from black cardstock. I white heat-embossed a sentiment from the Floral Roundabout set and adhered it to my card with foam tape. Using the Essential Alphabet Dies, I die-cut “mom” several times from colored cardstock and once from glitter paper. I layered the die-cut letters onto my card and finished with a scattering of clear droplets.

These are so pretty! I love the color palettes. The use of iridescent sequins for the shaker give it the typical fun shaker feel without distracting from the pretty stamp. Love the overall design of the Mom card and your stenciled backgrounds for both are beautiful!

Both of your cards are beautiful! I think the clear sequins in the shaker really add glam to the card and set off the vibrant colors! Your background on the second card is beautiful, and I love the idea of the additional circles in different sizes. I’m sure your mom will love the card. Great inspiration!!

I LOVE these circles dies and stamps!!!! What a great idea to do a shaker, Using limited colors is a great idea, maybe that’s partly why your projects turn out so good, not too complicated with color ~ I just love how energetic and crisp everything is. I think the black and white help it pop too. Well, I love it!!! I want both sets of dies!
Virginia Ellison | 20th May 20

This is such a fun release. I enjoyed your pretty cards and coloring and thought using the smaller die cuts of the main roundabout stamped image was brilliant.
