Therm O Web Blog Hop for New Rina K. Designs Release

Hello, friends!  Today I’m participating in a blog hop with Therm O Web as we launch the new release from Rina K. Designs.  Therm O Web is giving away 2 $50 gift certificates to randomly-selected commenters.  You may have arrived here from Ellen Haxelmans’ blog.   I am the last stop on the hop.  For the complete hop list, visit the Therm O Web blog.

My card features the new Sweet Stuff StampNStencil line by Rina K. Designs.  I just love the images in the stamp set, the fun sentiments, and the details you can add with the stencil.

I first stamped the cone and its detail layer with tan inks.  I stamped the ice cream scoops and cherry in various shades of Neon Electro-Pop ink and added shading with Copics (I also added some shading to the cone).  I fussy-cut all of the images (There are coordinating dies, but they do not have the scoop separate from the cone, and I knew I wanted to stack the scoops).

To create that fun glaze on the top scoop, I mixed White Glitz Glitter Gel with Poppin’ Pink ink.  There is a Poppin’ Pink Glitz Glitter Gel, which matches the Rina K. products better, but I don’t have any yet.  After applying Pixie Spray to the back of the Sweet Stuff Stencil, I placed it over my image and spread the gel with a palette knife.

To add more pop to my card, I reached for the Poppin’ Pink Enamel Transfer Sheets and the Sweet Stuff Stencil.  While the enamel sheets package states that the sheets can be applied with Transfer Gel Duo, I decided to try them with the original Transfer Gel.  Hence, the splotchy coverage I received.  I rather liked the distressed look (and I was too impatient to wait for the gel to dry a second time), so I went with it.

After adhering the stenciled panel to my card with the Memory Tape Runner XL, I attached my ice cream with Mixed Media Adhesive.  I stamped a sentiment from the Sweet Stuff set onto a die-cut circle.  I wrapped my card with some ribbon, tied a bow through a hole punched in the circle, and affixed it with a Gina K. Designs Foam Square.

Donut Birthday Tag by Andrea Shell | Sweet Stuff Stamp by Therm O Web

Although the new products by Rina K. Designs are all about neon colors, this tag illustrates that you can use these awesome products and still achieve a soft look.  Using the Sweet Stuff stamp set, I first stamped the donut with a tan ink and then the icing with purple.  I fussy-cut the donut and then added the sprinkles.

To add the sprinkles, I spread Transfer Gel Duo through the Sweet Stuff Stencil. Once the gel was fully dry, I ran the donut, covered with a piece of Poppin’ Pink Enamel Transfer Sheet, through my laminator.  To create the die-cut sentiment on my tag, I first trimmed a strip of Deco Foil Foam Adhesive.  After removing one side of the backing, I placed a strip of Poppin’ Pink Enamel Transfer on top and die-cut the piece with Pink & Main’s Sweet Dies.

With Pink & Main’s Arch Tag Dies, I die-cut a tag from patterned paper and white cardstock.  I adhered the two tags back-to-back with iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive.  I affixed the donut with Gina K. Designs Foam Squares and attached the die-cut sentiment beneath it (To remove the tackiness of the die-cut that extends beyond the edges of the tag, I simply dusted it with my embossing bag).  Onto a banner die-cut with Whimsy Stamps’ Quick Strips Dies, I stamped a sentiment from Pink & Main’s Hello Sweet stamp set.  I adhered the banner with Mixed Media Adhesive and looped some ribbon from stash through the tag.
