Guest-designing for The Greeting Farm: Foiled Birthday Card

Hello there!  I’m delighted to be guesting for The Greeting Farm this month!  They have the cutest stamps and gorgeous word dies!

Doesn’t this card just scream “Happy Birthday”?!  To create that fun party scene, I combined images from It’s Your Birthay, Feels 3, and Cute Kitties.  I colored everything with Copics and added accents with a white gel pen.

For that colorful, shimmery background, I turned to Rainbow Shattered Glass DecoFoil.  I applied Transfer Gel to white cardstock through Newton’s Nook Designs’ Bubbly Stencil and allowed it to dry (at least an hour).  Once the panel was dry, I covered it with a piece of foil and ran it through my laminator.  Ta Da!  Pure gorgeousness!

After trimming down the background, I die-cut it with the Happy Birthday Word Die, which I also die-cut from black cardstock three times.  I adhered the background to a 5″x7″ card, inlaid one of the black die-cuts, and tucked in the negative pieces from the die-cut background.  I layered on the other two black die-cuts and the foiled piece.  Finally, I arranged my colored images onto my card, popping up some with foam tape, and brushed clear sparkle over them.

Have a great day!
