The Stockings Were Hung…

Happy Hump Day, friends!  Today I’m sharing a card featuring a new stamp set from Whimsy Stamps, Santa and Stockings.  While I love everything Santa, I decided to focus on those cute stockings in the set (Don’t worry – I also made a card with Santa that I’ll show you later. 😉 ).

After stamping the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored them with Copics.  With my handy-dandy ScanNCut, I cut out those fun images and added a few highlights with a white gel pen.  I also added some clear sparkle and Glossy Accents to the images.

I created my background panel by blending Bristol Smooth paper with the following Distress Inks: Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover, Pine Needles and Black Soot.  I flicked on some water and blotted it dry before adding splatters of white paint.  Once the panel was dry, I die-cut it with the Slimline Scallop Die.  I also die-cut red and black cardstocks with the die.

After adhering the green panel to a 3.5″ x 8.5″ white card, I inlaid the black ovals and frames.  I popped up the red ovals with foam tape and added my colored images with more foam tape.  I stamped a sentiment from Santa and Stockings with Versafine Onyx Black ink and die-cut it with the Quick Strips Dies.  I attached the sentiment strip with even more tape (Yes, I love that stuff!), and my card was done!
